Huayhuash to Raura

There is mountain range next to the Cordillera Huayhuash, its name is Cordillera Raura, which has many snow-covered peaks and lakes that few ones know, but the beauties of these are not less that those who exist in the Cordillera Huayhuash, carrying out this circuit we will have the possibility to visit the most important places of both mountain ranges, between these places to visit are the lakes: Jahuacocha, Mitucocha, Carhuacocha, Viconga and Surasaca; also we will be able to appreciate the snow-capped mountains: Yerupajá, Hirishanca, Rondoy, Trapecio, Carnicero, León Dormido for quoting some; besides, finishing the trip you will have the possibility to visit the health resort of Churín and take a bath in spring waters of the same name.


Day 1: Huaraz – Llámac (4300 m.a.s.l.)
Day 2: Llámac – Pampa Llámac pass (4300 m.a.s.l.) – Jahuacocha (4070 m.a.s.l.)
Day 3: Jahuacocha – Zambunya pass (4750 m.a.s.l.) – Cuartelwain (4105 m.a.s.l.)
Day 4: Cuartelwain – Qaqanan pass (4700 m.a.s.l.) – Mitucocha (4230 m.a.s.l.)
Day 5: Mitucocha – Carhuac pass (4600 m.a.s.l.) – Carhuacocha (4140 m.a.s.l.)
Day 6: Carhucocha – Siulá pass (4850 m.a.s.l.) – Huayhuash(4300 m.a.s.l.)
Day 7: Huayhuash – Portachuelo pass (4750 m.a.s.l.) – Viconga (4400 m.a.s.l.)
Day 8: Viconga – Portachuelo (4800 m.a.s.l.) – Surasaca lake 4400 m.a.s.l.)
Day 9: Surasaca – Churin – Lima.
